Poker Etiquette
February 20th, 2008
Poker etiquette is an important part of the game, and it is important for the more experienced players to provide a good example.
It is important to every poker room that the environment you play in is enjoyable and safe for all, and they expect all players to abide by the rules of poker courtesy. As poor manners results in a hostile atmosphere, it is in everyone’s interests that there is good poker courtesy at the table.
Violating the rules of poker etiquette may lead to permanent banning from the casino or the closure of their online account.
You should always be:
Curtious to other players.
Keep your cards and chips visible on the table at all times.
Keep pace with the game play and make your decisions in good time.
Keep food and drink off the table.
Speak the language of the room where possible (eg. if your not in an english room, do not speak english).
If you suspect cheating, report it to the casino management.
Be polite to the Dealer and remember to tip them.
Keep quiet about your hand until the game is over.
You should never:
Be distracted from the action when you are in the game.
Sit down to play if you do not understand the rules of the games. Deliberately splash your chips into the pot.
Swear during the game.
Agree with someone to check a hand out when another player is all-in.
Have your cell phone turned on.
Put chips from the table in to your pocket.
Damage any cards.
Act out of turn.
Remember, unless you have also been where another player is, you have no right to comment or criticize on their play.
