Annette Obrestad
Norwegian pro player Annette Obrestad started her online poker career at just fifteen years old. However she claims never to have deposited money into any online poker room. Instead Annette grew her online bankroll by entering and winning freeroll poker tournaments, which resulted in her winning several hundred thousand dollars. In just six months, between September 2006 and February 2007 she won over $500,000 on Pokerstars, $200,000 on UltimateBet, and $136,000 on Full Tilt Poker. She was then ranked 51 in online poker in 2008. Annette went on to win the World Series of Poker Europe in September 2007, cashing £1,000,000 (c. $2.01 million at the time) the day before her 19th birthday. This win made her the record holder for the biggest single-event payout to a female player.
